18/9/2010. W/E Clarendon Classic, hosted by Sydney Antique Machinery Club Inc., at Hawkesbury Showground, Clarendon NSW. A good range of stationary engines, tractors and machinery is assured as well as vehicles and other fine collections. Tractor pulls and other events are conducted both days. There is free powered camping for exhibiters, a $2.00 Friday evening BBQ and a $20.00 Saturday dinner which is cooked on site. This year we are celebrating the 120 anniversary of Herbert Akroyd Stuart’s patents. His first, No 7146, in May of that year on the hot bulb engine and the second, No 15994, in October on what is now known as the diesel engine. Members of related machinery clubs are invited to bring examples of either of these engines or something different if they prefer. It is also the 70th anniversary of the David Brown VAK1 tractor and we hope to see a good turnout of these. Spectator entry; adults $7.00, children $3.00 and family $20.00. Proceeds go to beyondblue. Campbelltown Steam and Machinery Museum Oil Steam and Kerosene Field day 16th&17th October 2010 The Oil Steam and Kerosene Field days are run by volunteers and are an opportunity for the public to see machinery from bygone days in operation, they include working steam and stationary oil engines, army vehicles, tractors, antique earthmoving equipment, farm machinery and much more. We have guided tours of engines, free wagon and 2 foot gauge train rides, picnic facilities, onsite hot food. Be a part of the National Tractor Trek with two seperate trips planned for the 18th & 19th November 2010 centred around the historic highland village of Taralga. Trip one will leave Taralga showground and travel via quiet back roads to the magnificent Goulburn Waterworks where you will have lunch and time to inspect the steam pumping engine in operation before returning to Taralga. Trip two will take the scenic fire trails and back roads through the Blue Mountains National Park to visit Wombeyan Caves for lunch and cave tour before returning to Taralga. Then stay on and be part of own rally held over the 20th and 21st of November. plenty of camping is available on site with food and drinks available over the entire event. The Bega & District Historical Machinery Club will again be holding its 400km, 4-Day tractor trek from the 2-5 Jan 2011. The trek passes through Australia’s High Country with some of the most spectacular scenery en route from Bombala-Bendoc-Deddick Springs-McKillops Bridge-Suggan Buggan-Jindabyne-Dalgety-Berridale-Bombala.
