The Blackstone Vis-a-Vis Engine

I am sure that most enthusiasts will be aware that, in the late 1890’s and early 1900’s, when an engine manufacturer required an engine of a high horsepower, the only option available was to build an engine of an opposed cylinder design; the Vis-à-Vis engine. 

I have not been able to establish just how many engine manufacturers built
